Improving productivity through automation and process streamlining

The client runs an Indian food restaurant in Singapore and has been a household name. They would like to set up a central kitchen to automate and streamline their processes

The Background:
- The tightening of the manpower quota in Singapore has cause distress to many F&B
- To cope with the labour squeeze, the client has chosen to set up a central kitchen so that they can continue to grow with the plans to expand overseas

The methodology:
- Work flow in the kitchen are being evaluated through process mapping and wastage is cut
- Processing time is being cut by introducing relevant automation equipment and producing in bulk

The results:

- Workflow is simplified and processing time cut short with the help of the automation equipment
- With the capacity to produce food in bulk, the company can possibly take up bigger catering deals or do overseas food product distribution.
